Dr. Patel received his MD from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, India in 1963. His General Surgery Residencies were done at Agakhan Hospital, Nairobi East Africa, completed in 1965 and in England completed in 1968. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1968. In 1969 he completed a Surgical Residency at Norwalk Hospital, in Norwalk, Connecticut and in 1970 he completed another Surgical Residency at Grasslands Hospital, in Valhalla, NY. Dr. Patel completed his Orthopedic Residency at St. Lukes Hospital with Rotation to St Vincent's of Polyclinic Hospital in Manhattan, New York, where he was Chief Orthopedic Resident (7/1/72-6/30/73);St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston NJ, mainly doing reconstructive surgery and was Chief Orthopedic Resident (7/1/73-12/31/73) and Brooklyn Children's Orthopedic Hospital, Brooklyn, NY (1/1/74-6/30/74). Dr. Patel was Board Certified in 1977 and Certified by The Arthroscopy Board of North America in 1989. He was certified by the Board of Disability Analysis in 1999. He is attending Orthopedic Surgeon at Ellis, St. Clare's and Sunnyview Hospitals in Schenectady, NY.
